If you are coming along in a group, with family or as an individual – we will be sure to keep you occupied when you’re not racing! Regarded as one of the most social MTB events you’ll leave with new friends after a week of riding and socialising!
In fact due to its smaller size, the event has a more intimate feel and allows some great friendships to be made on and off the bike.

6:00pm Thursday 19th August – Competitor briefing & official welcome, at the Double Tree hotel.
We welcome all riders to the event for the official event briefing on Wednesday night after registration. Meet the Rapid Ascent team, hear a briefing from the medical team, chat to a few other riders and learn more on what you’ve got in store over the next 4 days in the Red Centre.
The Double Tree bar and restaurant will also be open for meals and drinks during and after these presentations which makes a great way to start fuelling up for the racing ahead.
4:30pm – 6:00pm Friday 20th August – The ANZAC Hill Climb Stage 2.
This may be a racing stage but its also a great social hang out with everyone cheering each other on as you go full-gas up this climb. There will be a pop-up bar at the summit with beer and mineral water for sale – perfect!
6:00pm Friday 20th August – Stage 1 and 2 Presentations, at the the top of ANZAC Hill .
We will award the prizes and results for stage 1 and 2 immediately after the conclusion of the Hill Climb on ANZAC Hill while we are all still together.
6:00pm Saturday 21 August – Stage 3 Presentations and Dinner at the Double Tree
The stage 3 presentations will be held as part of a mid-event dinner conducted at the Mercure Alice Springs Resort, outside under the palm trees. Tickets can be per-purchased via the mershandise page.
6:00pm Sunday 22nd August – Stage 4 Presentations, at Lasseters.
This is a shorter presentation to recognise our stage 4 winners held immediately before the start of stage 5.
8:30pm Sunday 22nd August – Stage 5 Presentations and dinner options, at Alice Springs Golf Club.
Alice Springs Golf Club is the host of the start / finish for the stage 5 night race and will host a dinner and post night ride celebrations from 8:30pm in their restaurant.
6:00pm Monday 23rd August – Stage 6 and Final Event Presentation Dinner, at the Double Tree hotel.
This is a terrific opportunity to celebrate the end of a great event by gathering together for a final send off. The function will be a buffet with tables and chairs set out on the grass in the middle of the Mercure garden area and/or around the pool.
TICKETS: Competitors in The Redback can pre-purchase dinner tickets when you register online for the event. Additional tickets for family members and supporters are available at race registration on Wednesday for $30 each. You do NOT have to purchase a dinner ticket to attend the presentations.
